The online book is succinct. Not a lot of time spent reading it. Obviously these are basic need to know facts and methods. New solder'ers will find it a good start and lessons learned as you practice will pay off with experience.

This free book explains the basics of getting started with resistance soldering. First you must have a least a little understanding about soldering to understand the info put forth in this book. That said, the info is good. The construction of the parts are just a simple example of what you could use at a minimum, but you can always make them different and better if you have the skills. It's a good start for a free book of info on the subject.

I was most unimpressed with yje three papers comprising the Book of Resistance Soldering. Too basic, not much detail especially on using resistance soldering.

It was a great book on how to build your own resistance soldering unit, but I have ni knowledge and was looking for a book that told me how to do. I had no idea what the carbon rods were for or the like. I am still clueless.

If you want to know how to build your own unit, this is the book for you. If you want to understand how to do it, not so much.
