About The Narrow Gauge Forest Steam Engine Cn2t LAS

This is called a forest steam engine because it was specially designed to not cause forest fires.

Most steam engines spread sparks and coals through the smokestacks and dropped ashes and burning coals from the ash boxes onto the tracks. Steam train caused fires were common everywhere.

This engine with three axles and specially designed fire free  cinder handling equipment allowed it to operate with a low axle load on weak track in forests.

It was a very popular design and widely used.

You get a book of plans and information, including specifications, about the engine.

The plans offer modelers and collectors the opportunity to build a highly detailed, museum quality, replica of the original locomotive. The model can be made using 1 mm card stock, styrene, or brass. The basic instructions in the book focus on card stock construction. Just substitute the material of your choice.
